The Same Book

The tablecloth is wearing out.
Hides the stains beneath it’s shroud.
I put my glass in the same spot still.
It looked so nice but now lost it’s thrill.

Can you take a second look, a second read through the same book.
It can’t be as bad as you think. Don’t lose the things you’ve seen before.

The shoes I wore, the souls are thin.
They’ve stepped too long against the ground.
I thought that they would last a while.
But now I see they’ve grown out of style.

Why does it always rain, so soft and sweet it kills my pain.
Why does is always snow, so full of ache but beautiful.
Can you take a second look, a second read through the same book.
It can’t be as bad as you think. Don’t lose me like you did before. to be by your side.
