The roads were dusty through the summer. I can't see clearly when I'm kicking up the road. Even when the snow covered, my eyelids heavy, and when the leaves fall I'm just playing like a fool. But it all seemed so good at the time. We make our plans then change our minds. Your grass looks greener than any other, I think you've got something to show me. I went to the mailbox and I read your letter with the paint and written words. You're so confusing and it's so attractive, we're just abusing all the time that we've been spared. But it all seems so good at the time until we make our plans and then change our minds. Then we crash and we collide and all the love it subsides. And then we go out on the road where there's no one to hide behind. My momma told me, be careful who you see. You never know what you can't get back. Well I shoulda listened to her every word, now I'm just wasting my time waiting by the tracks. For the next train, some other plan. I guess I do alright on my own in the end. © 2009 ASCAP Karli Fairbanks Music |
