Needle and thread, sit on the shelf waiting to mend all the shirts and dresses I pretend. We don't need fixing anymore. The love you found, you were worried it would make a sound. Everyone could see when I'd come around, you were just knocking on my door. What a terrible sound when we finally find the ground. After all of that time that you spent just floating and floating around with me in your hands. It's strange we find, such relief underneath such dreary skies. Working hard to keep some light in my eyes. I know it's not just wasted time. If we could wait a while, patience stretched before us across a thousand miles. Morning wind to send our thickest smiles, now let me patch your thread bare knees.
