I walked the rocky path, down to your house. We sat all afternoon looking through the mouth of the kitchen windows to the puget sound. I could tell you were alone drowning in the sounds of your dreaming. The faintest of whispers in my ear the other day, someone calling out my name from very far away. Telling me to go back to the place where I belong, funny how it seemed so right but now those thoughts are gone. And I'm dreaming of the things you left behind, I'm just thinking on a time when you were mine. Sometimes in the early morn I look out to the trees, swaying as if last nights songs brought messages of peace. They float on by my window reminding me of you, all the times and all the seasons this world has put us through. And I'm dreaming of the things we'll leave behind. I'm just passing through the seasons just passing time, and I'm thinking on a time when you'll be mine. When love seems so hard to give and people seem so cruel, the simplest of the things you said is finally ringing true. Finding restitution only in your eyes so hold me close and dry my tears, sing with me tonight.
